California’s Fair Employment and Housing Act Mental Disability Provisions
California employers of 15 or more are prohibited from discriminating on the basis of mental disability under California’s Fair Employment and Housing Act. Note that this is the only section of the FEHA that raises the threshold for compliance from five employees to 15 employees. Many of the FEHA"s mental disability discrimination prohibitions are similar to those with which employers must comply under the ADA.
