Illiteracy California employers of 25 or more employees must reasonably accommodate and assist an employee who reveals a problem of illiteracy and requests employer assistance in enrolling in an adult literacy program. Reasonable efforts must be made to safeguard the privacy of the employee as to the fact of his/her illiteracy.
