Alcohol and Drug Rehabilitation California employers of 25 or more employees must reasonably accommodate an employee who wishes to participate in an alcohol or drug rehabilitation program. Reasonable efforts must be made to safeguard the privacy of the employee as to the fact that he/she has enrolled in such a program. Note than an employee whose current use of alcohol or drugs makes him/her unable to perform his/her duties (or to perform them in a safe manner) is not protected under this law. |
